Artists to Watch at Listen Out

Introducing Strike Bowling Bar to Listen Out 2016!

We’re super stoked to be presenting our Chill Out Zone at the Listen Out shows in Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane this year and can’t wait to see some of our faves perform. Here’s who we’re tipping to be the show-stoppers…

  • L D R U

This guy will definitely be one to watch. His sound is influenced by the likes of Flume and Peking DuK, with his banga Keeping Score being a solid example of this. Having just performed at Splendour, this Sydney dude is ready to go! We’re keen to hear what L D R U has installed but we’re pretty sure his set is gonna make you wanna drop like it’s hot.

  • RUFUS

These dudes are killin’ it! They’ve been seriously busy since their first album release, Atlas in 2013 and now they’re back with their second album Bloom which was released earlier this year. They’re like Pringles; they popped and now we can’t stop (listening).

Highlights will be Like an Animal, You were right and Interbloom. These lads always put on a great display so get prepared – they will definitely be drawing a crowd.

  • Claptone Immortal live

Claptone, the genius in the golden mask has been taking his immortal tour around the world and is soon to be showcasing his awesomeness at Listen Out. We’re wetting our pants with excitement just thinking about it.

For those playing at home, Clapton’s Immortal set is broken into three parts – The Past, The Present and The Future, with each having unique visual representations and dialogue. This is all new levels of deep-sound. Sounds sick, yeah? CORRECT.

Here’s the teaser that we’re bangin’ on about..

  • JOY.

Aussie singer-songwriter JOY. will be providing a different, more chilled sound at Listen Out, but one we’re equally looking forward to. JOY’s electronic pop sound along with her relatable lyrics make her a joy to listen to. After recently bringing out her new single, Like Home, we can tell it’s going to be another big year for her. We’re super pumped to hear some new tunes mixed with the classics, such as About Me.

  • Travis Scott

YASSSSS, Travis Scott – a late addition to the lineup, but an amazing one at that. The American hip hop artist will be touring Australia for the first time and we’re stoked. After getting a taste of his style from producing some tracks on Kanye West’s Yeezus album, he then introduced us to his mixtapes last year and has his next album on the way too. No doubt he’ll be delivering a stella show.
