Last Tuesday night was the big night – we flung open the doors to the brand-spanking-new Strike Macquarie and welcomed in hundreds of thirsty, excited party-goers and VIPs.

On the night, our guests sashayed up the red carpet before getting the grand tour across the venue’s two massive levels, with newly-minted bowling lanes, a freshly-designed laser tag arena, DartsLive, pool tables, an arcade area, karaoke rooms, a bar that pretty much has to be seen to be believed and, of course, the recent art installation from renowned Melbourne street artist Adnate (which you can read more about here).

We were serving up free drinks all night, from mason jar cocktails to the (very necessary) champagne, while the kitchen pumped out canapes, sushi, mini-burgers, pizzas, and other offerings from our new function menu.

As the night kicked on, DJ Ben Morris (who’ll be headlining at Big Day Out in 2014) spun the packed crowd into a bowly, shooty, darty, celebratory frenzy.

We’ve been to launch parties before, where you stand around waiting for someone to cut a big ribbon with a comical pair of scissors. This was one launch you actually wanted to be at. And who needs novelty-size scissors when you’ve got laser guns and cocktails in jars?
