YELP Sydney & Strike Bowlings 80’s Party
By the knights of Columbus, what a blowout! The biggest Yelp event ever to hit Sydney saw 375 Yelpers rock down to Strike King Street Wharf to celebrate the daggiest decade of them all, the 80s.
For those of you unsure to what Yelp is exactly, Yelp is an online urban city guide that helps people find cool places to eat, shop, drink, relax and play, based on the informed opinions of a vibrant and active community of locals in the know. Yelp has been hugely successful around the globe, so when Yelp approached Strike to host the launch of Yelp in Australia, we jumped at the chance and put on an amazing ‘back-to-school’ party at the Strike Melbourne Central venue. Understandably, Yelp Sydney got jealous, so it was only fair to host another bodacious party and Strike’s King Street Wharf venue proved to be the perfect location.
Kitted out in their best, baddest and just plain awesome costumes, Yelpers were treated to a retro wonderland upon entering the Strike venue. Unlimited ten pin bowling was paired with not one but two karaoke rooms, allowing guests to channel their inner Bill Murray and/or Cyndi Lauper.
This wasn’t a decade of subtlety, and guests were spoiled with a phenomenal array of food, drink and entertainment from the likes of Mountain Goat craft beer and ciders, Harrys Cafe de Wheels, Giesen Wines, Snag Stand gourmet hot dogs, O!Momo, Valhalla Dessert Bar, ThankYou Water, The Nutty Baker, S.G’s and more.
I think it is fair to say that all in attendance had a fantastic time, and who knows, Strike and Yelp may just join forces again in the near future!
